I was craving brownies last night, and I don’t eat chocolate so that means I have to make my own. These are yummy, vegan, and caffeine-free. Can brownies get any better? I don’t think so.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup applesauce
- 1 cup turbinado sugar
- egg replacer equal to 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 3/4 cup flour
- 3/4 cup carob powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup vegan carob chips
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Grease a 9-inch square baking pan with coconut oil.
- In medium bowl, stir together oil, applesauce, sugar, egg replacer, and vanilla.
- In separate bowl, combine flour, carob, salt, and baking powder and stir together with wire whisk.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to oil mixture and stir until well blended.
- Stir in carob chips.
- Spread batter into prepared pan and bake for 20 to 30 minutes.
- Let cool, and eat!
