Rich, thick, chewy brownies without any caffeine! This is a great recipe to make for anyone you know that's watching their caffeine intake. So, if you know someone who loves chocolate, but can't have it, why not whip up a batch of these and share with them. I guarantee that you'll make their day.

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Grease 9-inch square baking pan.

In medium bowl, stir together butter, sugar, and vanilla. Add eggs, and mix well.

In separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa, salt, and baking powder. Stir together with wire whisk. Gradually add to butter mixture and stir until well blended.

Stir in chopped nuts, if using.

Spread batter into prepared pan and bake for 20 to 30 minutes.

Let cool, and sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Cut into squares and serve.
