Buttermilk Biscuits
Light fluffy buttermilk biscuits are great for breakfast, or as a substitute for dinner rolls; and if you have any left over, they make a great snack or dessert with some honey or jam spread on them.
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 4 TBSP butter
- 1 cup buttermilk
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Combine flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda together in medium bowl and mix well.
- Cut butter into flour mixture.
- Add milk and stir to make a soft dough.
- Turn dough out onto a floured surface and knead lightly for 1 minute.
- Roll dough out to 1/2inch thick.
- Cut out biscuits and bake on a cookie sheet for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
