ingredients:

2 containers of firm
tofu, drained
¼ cup soy sauce
¼ cup brown sugar
½ cup water
1 clove garlic, crushed
2 TBSP ketchup
¼ cup sherry OR apple juice
½ to ¾ tsp crushed red
pepper (to taste)
1 green onion, sliced
2 TBSP cornstarch
1 TBSP cold water


Here's a vegetarian version of my Grandpa's Simmered Chicken Wings. It's very yummy, and it doesn't take too long to make either. I recommend serving this dish with rice, but it can be eaten plain too.

Combine all ingredients and simmer for 20 minutes.

Remove tofu and onion to serving dish.

Add a mixture of 2 TBSP cornstarch dissolved in 1 TBSP cold water to sauce, stirring constantly until thickened.

Pour over tofu and serve.
